Allen Clapp And His Orchestra
Fans of winsome, wide-eyed pop may already be familiar with San Francisco Bay Area native Allen Clapp and His Orchestra, as the collective released an album and a handful of sharp pop singles in the 1990s. Although Clapp's recorded work occasionally suffers from extreme lo-fi production, his sunny tunes are far too sprightly to be mired down in the mix. Sadly, Alan Clapp and His Orchestra broke up toward the end of the decade, but have regrouped - with pop sensibilities in tact - as the Orange Peels.
