Although Badfinger's debut is a patchy effort, Magic Christian Music does have bright spots. Songs such as "Crimson Ship" and "Carry On 'Til Tomorrow" hint at the budding genius of the Evans/Ham songwriting duo, but are ultimately eclipsed by the McCartney-penned classic, "Come and Get It." Still, Magic Christian Music stands as an essential album.
