Cavity
Many aspire to the title of Metal's heaviest band, but few can present evidence as persuasive as Cavity. On their recordings, cries of pain bellow from a blast furnace of feedback and drumbeats moil and pound in deep troughs of sludgy guitar fuzz. The players delight in deafening waves of sound like Brer Rabbit in his briar patch. Shifting from lurching torpor to wind sprints of sound and fury, they know how to bludgeon without incurring numbness. Pure powerviolence seems the best way to describe the band. Awesome live shows that blur the line between equipment use and abuse have been their hallmark. Since signing to Man's Ruin and picking up a new vocalist, the band has slightly modified its sound, galvanizing its intensity with a machine tooled precision bordering on Industrial (though they continue to spurn synthesizers). Why should you listen to Cavity? Because to paraphrase Nietzsche, what does not destroy you will only make you stronger.
