Inspired by the musical uses of computers in the late '80s, he composes acoustic/electronic hybrids for TV and stereo. Arkenstone also records as Troika, and composes music for CD-ROM games including "Lands of Lore" and "Blade Runner." Arkenstone knew that his musical visions would be realized when computers and instruments could talk to each other. Arkenstone responds to the tag of "cinematic new age rock" as a term he "can live with." Arkenstone's greatest inspiration for composing in the New Age genre was the music of Kitaro.
