So Solid Crew rapper Asher D (a.k.a. Ashley Walters) was sentenced to eighteen months in a young offenders institution in London after being convicted of weapons possession . . . Two Jimi Hendrix television appearances will be released as Jimi Hendrix: The Dick Cavett Show, a new DVD/VHS, due May 14th . . . Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, Miguel Migs, DJ Baba have been added to the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, set for April 27th and 28th in California . . . Supersuckers frontman Eddie Spaghetti will perform solo at the Lava Lounge in Hollywood tonight, taking audience requests throughout the evening . . . Randy Newman's "If I Didn't Have You," from Monsters, Inc. won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles on March 24th, breaking his streak of fifteen consecutive Oscar losses . . . Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds will kick off a seventeen date tour on April 16th in Los Angeles . . . Bands on the Run winner Flickerstick will hit the road for a fourteen-date tour behind their debut album, Welcoming Home the Astronauts, on April 11th in Winona, Minnesota . . . Mike Watt and the Secondmen have lined up the massive sixty-three-date Our Oars Became Wings Tour, which will begin on April 15th in Tempe, Arizona; Watt has also been at work on a new record due out by year's end . . .
