Besides evincing a clear appreciation for modern art, Keith Sykes is thirty-year veteran of the music industry with cred to burn. Having written for such notables as John Prine and Jimmy Buffett, Sykes is the mysterious man at the fish fry who's noodling away in a lawn chair and blowing everybody's minds: you don't know who he is, but he'll move you. His bouncy tunes pull apart and snap back together like taut rubber bands, managing to be neither slick nor unfinished. This is friendly stuff for country people, written to medicate the blues Memphis-style -- or at least pass the time as another catfish hisses and spits on the griddle.
