Les Claypool
Founder of seminal alt rock band Primus, Les Claypool is regarded as one of the most creative bass players of all time.
He's well-known for playing a six-string fretless bass called the Rainbow Bass.
But Claypool has also invented his own instruments, including the one-stringed Whamola.
Claypool is currently working on his first feature film, "Electric Apricot," a mocumentary about the jam band scene.
He's also set to publish his first novel, "South of the Pumphouse," in July 2006.
