Speckled Red's key recordings were made during the 1920s and '30s, and his piano and vocal stylings feature a tantalizing combination of blues, jazz and folk. His good time, chicken-shack music has aged as well as brandy, Casablanca, and Sophia Loren and retains its fun-loving, scrappy grace.
