News Ticker: Michael Jackson, Sara Bareilles, Terrence Howard, Snoop Dogg

Michael Jackson has refinanced his famed Neverland Ranch, saving it from a trip to the auction block later this month. The singer came to terms with Fortress Investment Group, to whom he owed $24.5 million, to retain rights to the now-defunct ranch in Santa Barbara, California. Sara Bareilles will receive a special ASCAP Vanguard award at the association’s twenty-fifth annual Pop Music Awards on April 9th. The singer will also perform at the ceremony, where Steve Miller and Lionel Richie will be the recipients of lifetime achievement awards. Actor Terrence Howard has signed a recording deal with Columbia Records to release the first album by his band Terrence Howard Presents Me and the Band of Kings. The album, A Little Bit More Like Me, is due out in the fall. For those who can’t get enough Father Hood, Snoop Dogg will unleash a new animated series on Comedy Central later this year. The show will follow the D-O-double-G’s adventures growing up in 1980’s Long Beach, California.
