Friends of Gov't Mule bassist Allen Woody will honor their fallen compatriot with a tribute concert at New York's Roseland Ballroom on Sept. 21. Woody was found dead in a Queens, N.Y., hotel room on Aug. 26 at the age of forty-four.
The Allman Brothers, with whom Woody played bass through most of the Nineties, the Black Crowes, Phil Lesh and Friends, and the remaining members of Gov't Mule (guitarist Warren Haynes and drummer Matt Abts) will commemorate Woody at the show, with the net proceeds of the show going into a trust for his wife, Jenny and daughter Savannah.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale for $75 each, and are available at Ticketmaster Outlets and charge-by-phone at 212-307-7171, and 914-454-3388.
According to Capricorn Records, Woody's cause of death has yet to be determined.
