Crowes' Robinson Flies Solo

Singer to launch fall tour support of debut solo album

Former Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson plans to tour in late November in support of his debut solo album, New Earth Mud, which was released this week.

Paul and Jeremy Stacey, who play on the album, will back Robinson on his month-long tour. Paul Stacey also produced the record and accompanied Robinson on his acoustic tour through August in advance of the release. The album is being packaged with a DVD documenting the making of the album.

"It's really soulful and rootsy," Robinson told Rolling Stone in August. "It's definitely more subdued -- either funky sounding Neil Young or folksy Steely Dan. This is all my thing, the way I feel -- things I probably brought to the Black Crowes but now are able to come to the front in the lyrics, and just in the vibe."
