Umphrey's McGee
As one of the premier up-and-coming jam bands, this Chicago-based group has a unique taste in syncopated psychedelia.
Umphrey's McGee are similar to Phish and the Grateful Dead in that they allow taping at their concerts.
They say they are influenced by Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin.
They are particularly fond of cover versions, and have interpreted songs by Lionel Richie, Metallica and Toto.
Umphrey's McGee were formed on the ashes of Notre Dame, Ill., rock bands Tashi Station and Stomper Bob.
