Waylon Jennings travels in a new direction on his new Ark 21 recording, Closing in on the Fire, by working with some of rock and country's most recognized artists. |
The album, which was recorded in Nashville last fall and is set for a May 19 release, features a collaboration with Sting and Sheryl Crow. "She's Too Good For Me," a song penned by Sting, was re-worked to accommodate Crow's sultry vocals.
The album also features Jennings working on new songs with Dire Strait's Mark Knopfler and Travis Tritt, as well as three tracks with Jenning's wife, Jessi Colter.
Jennings has included audio liner notes describing the making of the album. He said fans should "just forget anything that you've ever thought you'd hear me do and do what you're feeling [because] you can't really say it had one certain vibe because everything came from so many different directions."
