Widespread Panic
Like any true American band, this blues-influenced southern rock jam band has a dedicated, beer-guzzlin' following.
Vocalist John Bell and guitarist Mike Houser formed the band in the mid-1980s while attending college in Athens, Ga.
After Houser died in 2002, many thought the Panic couldn't continue.
Instead they took a break, brought on new guitarist George McConnell, and got back on the road.
Their fans -- known as Spreadheads -- have remained tight-knit and loyal for 20 years.
